B-type

B-type gasoline powered engine

Used in Toyota's 4-ton truck series, developed and modeled after the GM Chevrolet 6-cylinder engine. Civilian used a BX engine in their vehicles and the BQ was used for military weapons carriers.

The engine was developed for trucks using large displacement pistons resulting in a heavy engine, including the clutch it weighed 275kg.

Durable extra thick cylinder walls were used. The block as well as the head were cast steel.
